Editorial Operations Manager

We are looking for a personable, pragmatic and content-savvy Editorial Operations Manager to join our growing team. As Editorial Operations Manager, you are a linking pin between the clients, the content producers, the project managers and business development. You take on a pivotal role in maximising the commercial impact of content, offer editorial guidance to the team, and develop content plans that align with the integrity of EdenFrost and the goals of the client.

The Editorial Operations Manager is accountable to and works closely with the Managing Director. The position is full-time, at 40 hours a week.


  • Account management: meet and liaise with clients to scope, pitch, plan and develop editorial concepts, content strategies and digital marketing solutions
  • Identify opportunities for sales, services and business development
  • Editorial management: manage the editorial process on a variety of content projects
  • Proofread, copyedit, brainstorm with and brief in-house and freelance writers and digital media specialists
  • Implement, monitor and refine editorial processes
  • Work closely with EF Project Manager for scheduling and project planning
  • Support and mentor in-house content creators and help recruit new freelance talent

Key skills

  • 10 years’ experience in the industry - be it journalism, copywriting, online or print - and at least 2 of those in an operational or managing editor role
  • Native English speaker with Intermediate level of Dutch (optional, but definitely a bonus)
  • Strong interpersonal skills: pragmatic, positive and open to receiving and giving input or critique with ease
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in digital media and content marketing, including SEO and Analytics
  • Solid time management skills: able to prioritise and balance multiple tasks, clients, requests and deadlines – and be flexible to change
  • Demonstrated ability with cross-organisational planning, maintaining schedules, and enforcing deadlines
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills
  • Comfortable pitching, delivering presentations and attending meetings with clients and stakeholders at all levels
  • Proactive, decisive, creative, innovative - and driven by results
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the Netherlands
